Accidentally removed songs from a Spotify playlist? How to get them back

Last checked

Removing a song is easy to do by accident — a swipe, a multi-select that caught one too many. Whether you can undo it depends on how quickly you notice.

Straight away

  1. 1Mobile: tap “Undo” in the message that appears at the bottom of the screen after removing.
  2. 2Desktop: use the undo shortcut right away (Spotify lists Cmd+Z on Mac and Ctrl+Shift+Z on Windows for undoing a deletion).

Later: find out which songs are missing

Spotify doesn’t show a list of removed songs. If you remember them, search and add them back — they go to the end of the playlist, so you may need to drag them to their old position.

If you don’t remember them, check Recently played, or ask Spotify Support to restore the playlist to an earlier state.
